U.S. food processing giant Archer Daniels Midland Co. will build a cocoa processing facility in Kumasi, Ghana, the world's second-largest cocoa producing nation after Ivory Coast, ADM said on June 7.
Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, pending final permitting approvals, the company said. The facility will use the latest technology in cocoa bean processing.
ADM spokesperson Jessie McKinney said, "When operational, the plant will employ between 80 to 100 people," McKinney said, adding that it is too early to state an estimated completion date for construction.
