The foreign currency coffee exports fetched for Ethiopia in the budget year ended July 7 constituted thirty-six percent of the total amount earned.
Export of oilseeds, the second major foreign currency earner, experienced an eleven percent decline over the previous year. This commodity fetched slightly over $188 million in the 2006/07 fiscal year, compared to $210 million the previous year.
Revenues earned from flower exports picked up by over three-fold versus that of the preceding year.
The detailed report of the export of 2006/07 is expected to be released this week.
