Iran's Ambassador to South Africa Mohammad Ali Qanezadeh discussed ways of increasing bilateral cooperation in the fields of agriculture with South African Minister of Agriculture and Land Affairs Mrs. Lulama Xingwana on July 23.
In the meeting, the ambassador submitted Iran's Agriculture Minister's invitation to his South African counterpart to visit Iran. Qanezadeh also expounded on Iran's latest achievements on agricultural sector and related industries, including country's self- sufficiency on wheat production.
In the past two years, Iran has imported a great deal of corn, grape and orange from South Africa and had exported summer crops and fruits there.
Considering season differences between the two countries, commercial companies of both sides are interested in exchanging fruits and vegetables in different seasons.
