Kano state government in Nigeria is to purchase 4,776 tonnes of Urea fertiliser worth N400m ($3 million) for onward distribution to farmers in the state, the state commissioner of information, Alhaji Haruna Isa Dederi said.
Isa Dederi also said that the state council had approved the release of N19.8m ($158,000) for the take off of a rice cluster in the state.
Zamfara state government has also procured an additional 5,000 tonnes of assorted fertilisers to be distributed to farmers.
