Tunis-based African Development Bank (AfDB) said on September 10 that it had lent Kenya $26-million to finance a farming scheme.
"The project will rehabilate nine existing smallholder irrigation schemes covering an area of 2,886 hectares and benefiting 5,812 housholders," the bank said.
More than one million people will benefit indirectly from the project, it added.
