Tanzania is prepared to make agricultural land available for co-operation with Viet Nam, its Agriculture and Food Safety Minister Steven M Wassira said. It would also "create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in fertiliser production in Tanzania," he said.
The minister gave his assurance at a working session with Viet Nam’s Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Cao Duc Phat and his officials in Ha Noi.
Both teams of negotiators agreed that their countries could co-operate to make agricultural machinery and tools, aqua cultural farming and agricultural import-export.Viet Nam could help Tanzania develop its agriculture and create favourable conditions for bilateral trade and investment, said Minister Phat. "Existing bilateral co-operation did not match its potential," he said.
The value of bilateral trade between Viet Nam and Tanzania totalled US$31 million last year and included rice sold to the African country for $22.6 million.Vietnam News
