The African Development Bank (AfDB) has granted Tanzania two loans of $92 million to help its education and agriculture sectors.
The bank said the first loan would finance a government programme aimed at boosting farmers' knowledge, under the Agricultural Sector Development Programme (ASDP).
The second loan will help improve secondary schools management and enrolment.
"The first loan equivalent to $61.25 million will help finance...the country's ASDP, the second loan equivalent to $30.62 million will be used to fund the Secondary Education Plan," AfDB said in a statement.
About 80 percent of Tanzania's 40 million people rely on agriculture for a livelihood, rearing livestock and growing crops ranging from coffee, tea, cotton, cashew nuts, tobacco and maize.
The east African country is among Africa's largest recipients of donor aid, with 42 percent of its 2007/08 budget funded by donors.
