Iran will give a 15-million-dollar loan to Gambia for agricultural affairs, an Iranian official has said.
"By granting the loan, Iran prepares necessary grounds for Iranian investors to promote agriculture in Gambia," said Farid Ejlali, Iranian minister for international affairs. He expressed the readiness of Iran's agriculture ministry to transfer agricultural know-how to Gambia through the dispatch of Iranian experts and researchers.
Gambia's Secretary of State for agriculture, Konja Sanneh, said purchase of spare parts for agricultural vehicles and transfer of agricultural know-how were among his country's dire needs.
Gambia welcomes investment of Iran's private sector in production of agricultural outputs, he said.
